Mid Century Pastel on Paper Titled: "Girl with Apples" by Phyllis Hipwell Janes

Biography: Born in Alliston, Ontario in 1905 and died in Ontario in 1990. She earned a B.A. from the University of Toronto and then studied for two years at the Ontario College of Art under Arthur Lismer and A.Y. Jackson. Jane´s chalk drawings were exhibited in 1950 at the Picture Loan Society. Her subjects included children, street scenes and barnyard life.
She became a member of the Canadian Society of Graphic Art in 1952 and joined The Ontario Society of Artists in 1958. Her work was exhibited at the Royal Canadian Academy, the Canadian Group of Painters, the Montreal Spring Shows, the Art Gallery of Ontario, at Victoria College and elsewhere.
Her work has been acquired in private and public collections across Canada.
This piece has been in my private collection for 20 years. It was the first of three that I had purchased.

Rare Mid to Late 19th Century Chinese Traveling Scribes Desk with two drawers and featuring its original coordinating stool

The legs of both pieces fold and collapse for compact travel. Its rich and superbly executed carvings feature stylized Dragons, Winged Insects, and Various other forms of Iconography.
Faux Bamboo Carved Edges Frame each Profile and add to its timeless appeal.

The desk and stool were acquired by a British couple while stationed in China and have been passed down 4 generations to the current family member residing in Toronto.

The desk measures 29.75 inches long, 20 inches deep and 25 inches tall.
The stool measures 18 inches long, 14 inches deep and 15 inches tall.

1970's Trio of Brutalist Torch Cut Brass and Copper Wall Hanging Sculptures in the Manner of Tom A. Greene or Curtis Jere


The largest piece is signed at the back as indicated in the last photo. "Jara"?
It measures 42.5 inches long, 28 inches tall and 6.5 inches deep (from wall).
The smaller sculpture to the left (1rst pic) is 19 inches tall, 9.5 inches wide and 4 inches deep.
The smaller sculpture to the right (1rst pic) is 17 inches wide, 17 inches tall and 4 inches deep.
